Winter is coming. That means it's time to trade in light fall jackets for something with more warmth and protection from the ice cold temperatures we are about to endure (though, it's already November and still decent in Naperville. #blessed)
One of the biggest trends this season is camel coats. Styles can range from a classic peacoat to the new winter cape style that I've been seeing a lot of on Pinterest. The main thing is to just buy a coat in that nice neutral shade.
Here's how I style this camel-colored essential:
I paired my coat with the basics of my wardrobe: Black leggings, a black scarf, and my well-worn, but well-loved brown knee-high boots. I also carried around my fig Longchamp bag because it can fit a lot of necessities (i.e. snacks) and adds a nice pop of color to a very neutral outfit. Coats like these can honestly be styled with crazy colorful outfits or with a more neutral ensemble like I did here. They're such a basic piece that doesn't detract from any outfit you wear underneath. You can obviously make them less basic by switching up the style to a cape or a fur coat instead of a classic peacoat or wool trench.
Oh, yeah. A little side note for you: I have dyed my hair back to brown. This shade is a couple shades darker than my natural hair color. They also cut off three inches of my hair and I didn't cry like usual.
All these photos are from this past Saturday when I was in River North to browse around a few galleries. Honestly can't wait to have money and a house so I can buy all the cool art I see and have somewhere to put it.
Let me know what you think of this trend in the comments below!
Happy almost done with fall term week!
