Style Inspiration: Hilary Rhoda

As a dedicated fashionista, I read a lot of articles both online and in magazines to stay up-to-date on the lateset trends. One of my favorite sites to read articles on is WhoWhatWear.com (yes, I also shop their Target line a lot) because they provide articles upon articles of the latest trends, celebrity style and the best new arrivals to hit stores each week. I am sent an email every day with their newest content, and one of those emails is where I found inspiration for one of my new favorite looks.
I will admit that I am a full supporter of leggings as pants. I rarely wear jeans, but when I do, I'm always stumped by what to wear with them. Thanks to the sartorial skills of model Hilary Rhoda, I have a new go-to look for any of my jeans.

I started by grabbing my beloved rag & bone boyfriend jeans (similar here) and Who What Wear Open Shoulder Tunic. While I don't mind the low rise of the jeans, I would prefer a higher rise so that the top tucks in easier. I chose this pair of jeans because of the distressing and light wash. I topped off my look with a Topshop duster coat (similar here)—the most important piece in this look. With just the addition of an interesting jacket, my look was instantly lifted from a mixture of basic pieces to something more polished and thought out.

I pulled out my (very scuffed) Call It Spring booties (similar here). I wanted to keep most of the elements of this look neutral, so I went for these. They would've been better in black...

As is typical these days, I wore my Love Your Melon beanie (similar here) for practical reasons and because the burgundy popped nicely against the olive green.
