If you haven't realized by now, I love the Who What Wear collection at Target. The pieces are on-trend, and nothing is over $50. I've worn many of their pieces in my posts and rotate all of them through my wardrobe. The one piece that I love in particular is their lace cami which comes in four colors. It's such a versatile item, and because of that, I'm showing you how you can style this simple and trendy tank top for three different occasions.
Occasion 1: Class
Class is one the hardest occasions to dress for. Some mornings you just want to wear sweats, while others you want to look as glam as possible without looking strange. This look is a happy medium and is really on-trend right now with the influence we're seeing from the '90s. It's base is the classic T-shirt and jeans combo, but it looks like you put in extra effort since it's a layered look.
Layering my cami over a basic white T-shirt really brought out the lace at the top. This styling trick is really popular right now with both shirts like I'm wearing here or with dresses layered over T-shirts. I chose a basic top to layer underneath, but a bold color or pattern would also look great against the black cami. My recommendation is to use a silk tank top or dress for this since the fabric won't cling to whatever you're wearing underneath.
Jeans are a great choice to complete this look because they're casual, but not too casual. I'm wearing mom jeans which are another huge trend right now. Other style such as step hem or cropped flares would look great with this look as well. And did we notice the return of my beloved adidas? They add an athleisure vibe to the overall look and are also a super trendy item.
Add a hat to cover your greasy hair, and you're ready to go for your early morning classes.
Occassion 2: Night Out
When you're having trouble deciding what to wear for a night out with your friends, my advice is to wear all black. You'll look chic and and put together even if you're only wearing a simple top and pair of pants.
This time, I paired my cami with some simple black trousers from Topshop. A basic pair of pants like this is so necessary in anyone's wardrobe because they're very versatile. They can work for a night out like I've styled here or they can be great in a professional setting as well. To keep the look trendy, I added some Steve Madden black leather mules instead of wearing a heel like most people think to do on a night out.
Surprise! I added color! Wraps like this are great because they can be used as a headband or a scarf or even to wrap a gift (I've done that before). It adds a nice pop of color to the look and keeps the outfit from looking too bland.
Feeling regal af.
Occasion 3: Weekend Errands
The weekend is definitely the most tempting time to wear sweats, but who wants to risk going out in public looking like you just rolled out of bed? It's easy to look polished with a few key pieces that don't require much effort.
Another trend-driven look, I wore some cropped flare jeans and lace-up flats. I know I keep saying this, but basic items are a great addition to your wardrobe even if they are basic like this because they can work in so many different outfits and for many different occasions.
A duster coat is also another great trend this season and a good way to add some layers and texture to a look. This olive green color has been really popular this season.
*day dreams of taking a nap*
I hoped you enjoyed learning how to style a piece for three separate occasions! Let me know in the comments what you would like me to style next. Now it's time for my first trip! Any guesses where? HINT: I'm going to a land of Guinness beer and pots of gold.
