Day 7. A full week of fashion in New York, and there's still a couple of days to go. But before we get ahead of ourselves, let's check out some awesome looks from yesterday.
You already know that I love the workwear separates in this collection. I also love the bright and bold color choices and that yellow and blue plaid. Usually we see plaid in the fall but Derek Lam is bringing it in for spring... groundbreaking.
Jason Wu Collection
As opposed to the more wearable Jason Wu line, the Jason Wu Collection has some dreamy dresses that were made for a red carpet or even a black tie affair. Thought I do love the striped trench-inspired dress. Pair it with a crisp white layering shirt and it could definitely be office appropriate albeit a bit dressy.
Workwear, workwear and more workwear... and that dreamy blue dress. I think it's obvious that my style and tastes have evolved as I've gotten older and I just can't stop thinking about suits. I'm loving the blazer options from Khatie as well as the styling here. Belting my blazers is going to be a go-to trick once I don't have this huge stomach in my way.
Maryam Nassir Zadeh
Theory is always a favorite of mine and they really nailed it with their spring collection. Solid colors seem to be a go-to for a lot of designers this season which will be refreshing after the animal print trend we're about to see everywhere this fall and winter. Again, the workwear staples that they have in this collections are musts for me, especially that pinstripe suit complete with an oversized blazer — my favorite kind.
What I love most about this collection is something I've already mentioned in this post. The belted looks are really going to be big for spring so I would suggest going out and finding a few different statement and basic belts to mix and match because they'll be the accessory that completes your spring look. Wendy Nichol's spring collection is proof of this.
We are almost to the end of NYFW! If you've been keeping up with my rundowns every day, thank you so much for sticking it out with me and I hope to see you over on my street style favorites and back here tomorrow!
