I was trying to come up with a creative title for London, and I came across the word "lugubrious" on thesaurus.com. "Lugubrious" means dismal and I think that aptly describes my trip to London this past weekend. To be completely honest, I was overall disappointed by London. It had it's highlights, but I can say with absolute certainty that it's not in my top three places I've visited (I say three because I haven't visited that many places in my life). Even though I didn't fully enjoy London, I'd still like to share my photos. I hope you enjoy a small peek at one of the world's most famous cities. Notting Hill + Portobello Market As you can probably tell, I loved all of the colorful houses in this area. River Cruise We didn't stay on the upper deck long because it was very cold and windy. London Eye Palace of Westminster + Elizabeth Tower While many call the building the Houses of Parliament, Parliament is only a portion of the Palace of Westminster. The tower is also called Elizabeth Tower, not Big Ben. Big Ben is the name of the bell inside the clock tower. Tower of London + Tower Bridge I only have a couple of photos because you weren't allowed to take pictures of the crown jewels, the coolest part of the Tower of London. British Museum The Rosetta Stone The weather was a large part of why I didn't enjoy my time, but London just failed to live up to my expectations. Hopefully it will be better the second time around with my family in just a two weeks! Happy end of the world/election day,
Halle René
