Christmas 2016 Wish List

12/9/2016

With Christmas only a few short weeks away, I decided I would share some of the items that are on my list this year! I've been loving a lot of the recent runway and street style trends so prepare to see a lot of velvet, oversized pieces, and of course, a lot of black.
Picture
A.L.C. Genuine Shearling Jacket: This item has been on my wish list since I saw A.L.C.'s fall ready-to-wear collection. Shearling jackets are a huge trend this winter because they're warm and chic. I love this version in particular because it has the cool girl vibes from a leather jacket, but is made cold weather appropriate with a shearling lining, cuffs, trim, and even pockets.
adidas Originals Satin Pullover: Satin continues to be a huge trend in the street style world and I'm happy to see it in an athleisure piece. I'm also loving the pastel camo print and quarter zip. This would pair perfectly with some distressed denim and slides for a casual weekend look.

Alice + Olivia Gamma Leather Jacket: A leather jacket is essential in every wardrobe regardless of your style. A piece like this is timeless yet trendy with the quilted detailing on the shoulders and the zips on the side and arms of the jacket. A leather jacket is worth investing in because it can easily transform any outfit with minimal effort.
Alice + Olivia 'Layla' Stretch Silk Cold Shoulder Ruffle Top: Recently I've been loving tops like this. I'm not typically one to wear ruffles, but there's something so simple and feminine about this top. It's the perfect blouse for all of your holiday parties and can even be worn well into spring.

COACH 1941 '23' Leather Saddle Bag: I've been on the hunt for a small purse for awhile now. While I love my Longchamp, there's too much space for me to fill with useless items (and lots of snacks so maybe it's not so bad?) which cause my bag to be very heavy after awhile. This purse is the perfect size to carry all of your essentials, and who doesn't love this shade of blue? It's the perfect shade for winter.
Elizabeth and James Layla Pleated Wrap Blouse: Wrap blouses are becoming really popular because they're figure flattering and a great way to show a little skin without being risqué. This blouse would be perfect with some distressed denim and heels for a night out or layered under a tailored blazer and a pair of chic trousers for a work setting. Don't forget to add a statement necklace to fill in the gap!

Elizabeth and James Mini Eloise Croc Embossed Leather Satchel: This another small bag that I've been admiring. Red has become increasingly popular with street style stars and it makes easy to inject a little bit of the color into your look with a bag like this. This type of structured bag is also great for adding polish and possibly balancing out a look that's made up of more oversized or relaxed pieces.
Elizabeth and James Oversize Knit Sweater: Now THIS is my kind of sweater. I love everything oversized right now and this Elizabeth and James sweater is screaming my name. It looks like it would be so cozy for this time of year and you wouldn't even need to wear gloves because the cuffs would cover your hands. Here's to hoping this goes on major sale so I can make it mine.

Good American Good Legs Skinny Jeans: An invention of Khloé Kardashian, these jeans have been selling like crazy. She came out with several different pairs, but I love this pair the most. Black jeans are such a staple item because they can work in many different situations. This pair can be dressed up for work or dressed down for a weekend day out.
Madewell Anya Breakfast Served All Day Tee: I used to love graphic T-shirts when I was younger—by graphic T-shirts, I mean T-shirts emblazoned with Aero or American Eagle. This T-shirt is a much more grown-up version and is simple yet fun. Brexffist is the inportant mell of the day (you will never live that down, Payne), and it happens to be my favorite meal so this graphic T-shirt is right up my alley.

McQ Alexander McQueen Lace Trim Hoodie: This item isn't available quite yet—it ships out in March—but it's the perfect item for that late winter/early spring weather where it's still cool enough that you need a layer or two, but warm enough that you can bear to show a little skin. I love the lace insets in this hoodie and I predict it will sell out fast.
Olivia Palermo + Chelsea28 Open Front Faux Fur Jacket: Right now is the perfect time to pick up a faux fur piece. With temperatures dropping, jackets like this will keep you warm and fashionable when all you want to do is stay in your bed all day. Olivia Palermo created the perfect winter white jacket to wear all season long and it can go with almost anything in your wardrobe. I suggest you pick up a fur jacket if you don't own one already. You won't regret it.

Re/Done 1950s Boxy Tee: Celebrities and street style stars alike have been falling in love with Re/Done. A brand that updates vintage pieces, most people have been dying to get their hands on a pair of Levi's that have been redone (get it?). I personally love these boxy T-shirts so much that I want one in every color. T-shirts like this are a great buy because they're simple, yet so versatile. They can be paired with jeans as shown here, worn under a slip dress, or even styled with a tailored suit. Basic T-shirts are worth investing in because they're such an essential in every closet.
Second Skin Overalls The High Rise Flare: These overalls are from a new line created by one of my favorite bloggers, Danielle Bernstein from We Wore What. While I haven't been a fan of overalls in the past, I think these are so chic and wearable for an adult. Some overalls make you look like a child, but worn with the right top, these overalls would look amazing.

Second Skin Overalls The Jumpsuit: While the pair shown above are an updated and adult verison of overalls, these are way better. I love the jumpsuit style and these are perfectly fitted. This is the kind of piece that could stand on its own and be a showstopper with the right shoes and accessories. I'd style this with heels and dainty gold jewelry for a night out.
Topshop Jersey Ruffle Sweatshirt: As I've probably mentioned before, I'm not really a ruffle person, but I love the ruffle detailing on this simple sweatshirt. Feminine details like this are really popular right now. This would be great for a holiday party with a metallic pleated skirt or could be dressed down with some jeans for a family event.

Topshop Peg Leg Trousers: I've been really into workwear recently. Maybe it's because I'm hoping for an internship this summer or I'm just ready to jump into a job where I can do what I love every day as opposed to going to classes. These burgundy trousers are classic but trendy since this color is always popular during the fall and winter. They can be paired with a silky tank top and heels for the perfect party look.
Topshop Satin Pocket Duster Coat: Duster coats are still a popular outerwear choice this season even though puffer jackets are everywhere. I love the length of this coat and the simplicity of it. It makes a great layering piece and can be really warm if bought in a thick fabric. This jacket is timeless and I think it will stick around for seasons to come.

Topshop Textured Ruffle Blazer: I've talked about my latest obsession for workwear and this is another piece that's on my list to feed that obsession. I love the ruffle detail on the elbow and shoulder. Again, feminine details are becoming really popular. This blazer, with its details, is still really classic and can be worn to work or can be dressed down for a night out with your friends.
Topshop Wide Sleeve Ribbed Crop Top: Another trend I've been loving as of late is wide or bell sleeves. This is a great basic top for the season and would look great under a jacket or even with a fur vest. I could also see this top looking great under the High Rise Flare from Second Skin Overalls.

Topshop Boutique Choker Tee: T-shirts like this are becoming increasingly popular because it's a shirt and accessory in one. This top would look great under the ruffle blazer from above or with jeans as it's styled in the picture. A lot of sweaters are being made in this style now as well so there are a lot of options for everyone.
Topshop Boutique Funnel Neck Silk Blouse: This is yet another oversized top (look at those amazing sleeves!). I told you I was loving this trend! This funnel neck blouse is like an updated turtleneck and this icy lavendar is perfect for winter. Say hello to your new holiday party blouse.

Topshop Unique 'Constance' Off the Shoulder Silk Midi Dress: If I had a really fancy holiday party to attend, this would be the dress I would wear. Off-the-shoulder styles are still really popular even in the winter. A dress like this needs little to no accessories to make it shine. Just add some simple heels (a pop of color would be great) and a pair of statement earrings and you're all set.
Who What Wear Women's Ally Velvet Pumps: If you've been around my blog for awhile, you probably already know how obsessed I am with Who What Wear x Target. I'm even more obsessed with the shoes that they recently launched. There's a small collection for winter, but expect a larger offering in the spring. For now these blue velvet pumps are the perfect piece for both holiday parties and spicing up your everyday workwear.

Who What Wear Women's Birdcage Skirt: So many workwear pieces, no actual job. Another piece that I would love for a work setting. Paired with a crisp white button-down and a blazer, this would look great in the office. Right now, I would style this with heels and a silk tank top for a night out. This floral is especially great for winter with it's dark color scheme.
Who What Wear Women's Chunky Cardigan: I don't think that one can have too many sweaters in her wardrobe—especially when those sweaters are as affordable as this one. I live in chunky sweaters during the winter, as do most people, so this is a great option to pick up right now. The thick knit will keep you super warm and looking chic.

Who What Wear Women's Cozy Turtleneck Sweater: I used to think that I looked like an actual turtle in turtleneck sweaters. Slowly but surely I've been amassing my own small collection of the popular winter sweater style. I love this color for winter especially because it's feminine, but not too bright. Such a muted shade of rose could almost be a neutral in your wardrobe this season.
Who What Wear Women's Envelope Crossbody: Another small blue bag that I've been eyeing. This cross-body is much more afforable than the COACH 1941 saddle bag, but is just a chic with the popular envelope style. This style is typically seen in clutches, but it looks great as a cross-body bag and allows you to be hands-free at all your get togethers during the holidays.

Who What Wear Women's Frayed Edge Denim Crop: People that know me well know that I usually stay away from jeans, but I'm a huge fan of the cropped flare style that we've been seeing a lot of lately. This pair of jeans also has the frayed hem that is really popular as well. Even though it's a pretty trend-driven piece, it can stick around long after we've moved on to new styles. It has a classic look despite it's trendiness.
Who What Wear Women's Great Wrap Coat: I believe a coat like this is an essential in any woman's wardrobe because it's so classic and polished. While your puffer jacket may work for most of your looks, sometimes you need to wear a nicer coat if you're wearing a nicer outfit. A coat like this in a neutral color is a great option to keep you warm this winter.

Who What Wear Women's Kat Microsuede Slingback Flats: And here we have another pair of shoes from Who What Wear's new line. I love this flat because it's functional and comfortable. I'm not a fan of the ballet flat style, but this pair is much more grown-up and a great addition for anyone looking to create a sophisticated wardrobe.
Who What Wear Women's Lace Up Vee: Lace-up shirts are still really popular but can sometimes come with a steep price tag. I love this one in particular because it's simple and affordable. Much more affordable than the Stella McCartney sweater that started my obsession with lace-up tops.

Who What Wear Women's Midi Pencil Skirt: Pencil skirts are another wardrobe essential, especially for the working woman. Let's be honest, who wouldn't want to show up to work rocking this skirt? It's so on-trend, yet classic, and again, the color scheme and print are beautiful.
Who What Wear Women's Oversized Cardigan Sweater: Another cardigan sweater, but what can I say? They're essential. It's also oversized so it's just what I've been obsessing over lately.

Who What Wear Women's Oversized Square Scarf: A winter fashion essential—one cannot go without a scarf (or a coat... trust me, I've tried). This one is a great option if you are looking for something simple to go with many different looks. A neutral scarf is your best tool to pull together an outfit.
Who What Wear Women's Printed Midi Dress: Another trend I've been loving that we've been seeing for awhile is the midi dress. I personally love this length because my legs are long enough so that this hits mid-shin like it's meant to. I know this trend isn't for everyone, but this dress is beautiful—just look at those colors and the floral pattern. They also have this print available in other pieces in the line if this dress isn't for you.

Who What Wear Women's Shoulder Slit Dress: The print strikes again. This dress would be great for parties this season. Just add tights and booties or be even more daring with over-the-knee boots. No one will even be able to guess that you bought this dress from Target.
Who What Wear Women's Striped Top Handle Bag: Bag #4... but doesn't this one just scream "Halle?" Black and white and beautiful all over. While it may be slightly reminiscent of old prison uniforms, it's a classic bag that would be great with any look you choose. I personally love the top handle and shoulder strap because now you have more than one way to carry your bag.

Who What Wear Women's Teddy Bear Bomber Jacket: Recently, a former classmate of mine started a blog and she mentioned a teddy bear jacket being on her list of things to pick up during the season. I totally agree. This on-trend jacket looks so cozy and warm. It would be the perfect third piece to take your T-shirt and jeans to the next level and it would help keep out the cold.
Who What Wear Women's Velvet Lace Trim Cami: This may be the biggest trend of the season. Once velvet appeared on the F/W 16 runways, there was no stopping the trend from exploding. This tank top would be perfect for someone who just wants to test drive the trend. It's simple, but can make a statment when mixed with different textures—I'm thinking the frayed crop denim and teddy bear jacket would look amazing with this. Add some booties, the scarf shown above, and a statement bag and you have a great winter look.

Who What Wear Women's Velvet Wide Leg Pant: You can't tell me that these pants don't look crazy comfortable. This is another way for you to test drive the velvet trend. Prepare to look and feel great all day long when you pair them with a turtleneck sweater and some loafers.
Who What Wear Women's Velvet Wrap Slip Dress: I'm sorry, but I'm obsessed with velvet, and like I mentioned above, it's so on-trend for winter. This wrap dress would be great for any holiday party and can be made more casual with the addition of a white T-shirt underneath.

ZAC Zac Posen Eartha Iconic Soft Top Handle Leather Satchel: The last item is yet another bag. What can I say? I'm in the market for a new purse. Again, I love the top handle style that also includes a strap because it offers multiple ways of carrying the bag. I also love this blush color. It's feminine without being too girly which is a huge trend at the moment.
What's on your Christmas list this year? What trends are you loving? Let me know in the comments!
Happy holidays!
