So I was going to post this on Christmas Eve... and then New Year's Eve... and then the beginning of January... but now here we are at the end of January and I'm just getting around to reviewing Kathleen Lights' latest collaboration with ColourPop Cosmetics.
This collection features two different bundles that can be purchased separately or together. The first bundle is the Twinkling Lights Lips ($20) that includes two glosses, a satin lip and a matte lip. The second bundle is the Twinkling Lights Eyes ($18) foursome that includes four of the original Super Shock shadows that first made ColourPop popular. It's also possible to buy each product individually — $6-$6.50 for the lip products and $5 for the eyeshadows — if you're only interested in a few shades. If you're interested in the full collection ($38), you can purchase it all together.
I've posted a few reviews on ColourPop products before and my thoughts haven't changed with this particular collection. ColourPop is one of the best affordable makeup brands you can find. Their satin lips are one of my favorite lipstick formulas and I really enjoy the glosses even though a gloss wouldn't be my first choice of lip product. The Super Shock shadows are a great, easy formula to use and can really be built up to create a dramatic eye look.
To create the eye look I'm wearing in all of the photos, I first put Vela ($5) on the inner and outer corners of my eye. Then I placed Light Up ($5) in the center and layered Glisten ($5) over that. I also placed Glisten in the very inner corner. The only color I didn't use was Blitzen ($5). The great thing was that I did this eye look completely with my fingers... no brushes required with these shadows. I actually find that these shadows work better with your fingers compared to a brush.
Now for some lip swatches.
Little Star — Ultra Matte Lip ($6.50)
Night Light — Ultra GLossy Lip ($6)
Lucky Star — Ultra Satin Lip ($6.50)
Étoile — Ultra Glossy Lip ($6)

It's officially the season of Aquarians. This air sign, which runs from January 20-February 18, is the sign of KL Polish creator KathleenLights. Aquarians can be visionaries and progressives but also uncompromising and temperamental. They are represented by the colors blue and silver and are ruled by the planets Uranus and Saturn.
Kathleen named this shade Aquarius 2 since she already an Aquarius shade from the Lips + Tips collection. It's a metallic deep cobalt blue polish with micro multi-colored glitters that Kathleen described as Aquarius in a bottle. She wanted to capture a blue galaxy in this nail polish and I think she nailed it. The glitter in the polish is absolutely stunning and this is a shade I could wear all the time. I think it's become my new favorite KL Polish shade.
This was definitely opaque on two coats and has lasted me much longer than any of KL Polish's other shades have before. I don't think the formula is any different than previous collections... maybe I've just finally improved at doing my nails.
Be on the lookout for the next KL Polish swatch next month... I promise it will be the best of them all.
