It may be April, but I'm talking about my March BOXYCHARM box today since I got it very late this month. This is the last box I'll be getting, but I do wish I could continue my subscription because I L O V E these boxes! If you didn't see my unboxing posts for January or February or didn't read my collective review, you can find them here, here, and here.
So the theme of this month's box was "Sweet Treats: Sugar is sweet, but this box is sweeter!" Unfortunately, the card didn't come with product information this month, so I'm going to do my best to give you as in-depth of a description as possible.
So the first think I notice in the box is this pink makeup brush. This is the Luxie Rose Gold Small Contour Brush 512. "This pink and rose gold contour brush is a Luxie signature. Both vegan and cruelty-free, the synthetic bristles are coated with antibacterial solution to keep it fresh and clean. Perfectly dense for precise and streak-free makeup application, its soft touch is unparalleled." (Luxie website.) This brush retails for $16.00 and let me just say that that seems really expensive for this tiny brush. I typically buy my brushes from Morphe which is way more wallet-friendly, but it is really nice that this brush is vegan and cruelty-free and has antibacterial coated bristles. I've heard nothing but good reviews on Luxie brushes so I'm excited to try this out, but I doubt it will replace my Kat von D Shade + Light Contour Brush.
Next up is the little black box. It's the Catherine Malandrino Style de Paris Deluxe Mini Sprayer 10ml. This scent is "crafted with notes of Ruby Red Grapefruit and Nashipear blending with Oragne Blossom and Gardenia, it's the essence of of those summers on the beach or evening strolls through the park. Enjoy mid notes of Violet and Ocean Breeze with a base layer of Patchouli dry down that will leave you embraced in elegance and grace." (cmbeaute.com) This mini perfume retails for $20.00. Damn.
The Previse Skincare Hydromilk Hyaluronic Lotion is the ideal lotion replacement for natural hydration... Potent antioxidants, rich botanial extracts, and hyaluronic acid are your skin's new best friend." (previsecare.com) This product is 2.0 oz and retails for $48.00. My skin better be hella smooth after using this if it's that damn expensive for a small bottle.
I was most excited about this next product, or products, the Makeup Geek shadows! I already have a lot of their single shadows, including Cocoa Bear which was one of the shades they sent. The other one is one of their Duochrome shadows in the shade Mai Tai. Cocoa Bear is a matte reddish brown and Mai Tai is an apricot base with orchid reflects. I use Cocoa Bear a lot, so I'm excited to have a backup, and I can't wait to try out Mai Tai because it looked beautiful when I swatched it (even though you can't tell in the photo.)
Lastly we have the Chella Tantalizing Taupe Eyebrow Color Pencil. This product retails for $18.00 so it's cheaper than my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer, but we'll see if it compares. The one major downside is that there is no spoolie. But the website says it's smudge-able which sounds awesome.
I'll be sure to let you all know later in the month how I feel about these products!
