Welcome to month two of my three month trial of BOXYCHARM! If you missed last month's post, be sure to check it out here. I talk all about the box and its many pros over other subscription services.
So let's get to it then.
February's theme is "Rush to Relax" and that's exactly what I need right now. We're at the end of week seven of the term which is crazy because that means that I'm over halfway done with my sophomore year of college. Feeling old yet, mom? This box was filled with products perfect for a relaxing night of face masks and a binge session of How I Met Your Mother (one of the best TV shows... so good that I'm watching it for the second time.)
The first thing I'm going to talk about is that giant red heart in the middle. That is the Spongellé You Have My Heart On A String. The "heart shaped body wash infused buffer enriched with hydrating olive oil & a blend of energizing and toning extracts" is a full size product that retails for $15.00. I'm really excited to use this product because it just seems awesome. You're able to cleanse and tone with one side and exfoliate and stimulate with the other. Definitely using this in the shower tonight.
Next up we have the white box on the bottom right. The Beauty for Real Blush + Glow Stick is a full size product that retails for $24.00. It is "a 2-in-one blush and highlighter created not only to color and highlight, but also to provide anti-aging benefits. This cream-to-powder long wear formula delivers light reflecting benefits and glowing radiance, which ensures a smooth, beautiful, flawless finish." I swatch this on the back of my hand, and the highlighter seems like it could be a really light and shimmery blush on my skin as opposed to a highlighter. But good thing it has anti-aging benefits because I turn 20 in two-ish weeks and that's SO OLD. (Totally joking.)
The Shray Ms. Amazing Facial Mask (top right corner) is "an ultra hydrating mask to quench thirsty, ragged, and dull skin. This moisturizing mask is gentle enough for everyday use yet tough enough for your supercharged life." My life is anything but supercharged, but I love a good face mask. This is one of those sheet masks, but not. I'll be sure to try it out soon and let you know my thoughts. The mask is full size and costs $12.00. We'll see if it can beat out my beloved $7.00 Sephora sheet masks.
I love banana powders, so I was happy to get this OFRA Banana Powder Godet (top left corner) in this month's box. The card says "this innovative new product can be used as an all-in-one face powder," but I typically use powders like this to set my concealer under my eyes to help brighten and cancel dark circles. This is one of the cheapest powders I own, retailing at only $12.00 for the full size, and has a magnetic pan so it can attach right to my Z Palette next to 5 million peach blushes from MAC.
Literally almost passed out when I read the retail price for this next product. IT'S $58.00 DOLLARS WTF AND IT'S FULL SIZE FOR 7ML. This Freeze 24.7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum (white tube) better change my whole life to be that f*cking expensive. It must contain water from the Fountain of Youth. They must know my birthday is fast approaching with all these anti-aging products. Get ready to "say goodbye to fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness with this ground breaking, lightweight eye serum." I mean this would be a nice product if I had crows feet, but you usually have to smile to get those and I try to avoid smiling at all costs.
Finally, we have the Realtree for Her 10ML Travel Sprayer which retails for $12.99. I thought that this was going to be some wood-y, outdoors-y scent from the look of the pink box (bottom left corner), but it's "a delightful fragrance with the sweet scent of pomegranate, a hint of persimmon and an exotic scent of orchids." I actually didn't think it smelled bad. I liked it, but there are other perfumes that I prefer over this one.
The overall total of this month's box is $133.99, but you only pay $21 per month (even less if you purchase three, six, or 12 months at once.) There are some products in here that I'm intrigued by, but I'm not over the moon for February's box. It's still worth it though despite my indifference toward the products. I know I said last month that I would review the products at the end of the month and didn't, but I will this month. If you're interested in my thoughts on January's products, just let me know and I'll do a review!
