So I waited a very long time to style these overalls. I got them for Christmas from my dad but then had to get them altered since the leg didn't really suit my fancy. I took it in to get the legs tapered and cropped to fit the vision in my head I had of these overalls. And after that happened, they were perfect. I was ready to be a walking picnic blanket for all of spring and summer.
Today I'm showing you three outfit idea for these fun gingham overalls ($168) from SSO by Danielle, so keep reading to see how you can make these work for you.
Outfit 1: Rainy Day
I actually wore this outfit once already the day after my birthday when it rained practically all day. I had just gotten my overalls back and was ready to take them out for a spin since we were visiting a couple of local breweries with my dad. Side note: Noon Whistle in Lombard, IL, is great and their Face Smack series is my favorite beer. Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora, IL, is also really great and the food was delicious. They had a cherry sour when we went and it was perfect for me since I'm a sour fan. Anyways, this outfit was perfect for the day and keeping the other pieces one color helped the overalls be the star of the show. I paired the overalls with my tried and true Everlane cotton crew in black ($18). For shoes, I grabbed my Jeffrey Campbell Climate Waterproof Rain Boot ($29.97) that I picked up at Nordstrom Rack and topped off the look with my Express faux leather jacket ($148) and my beloved Rag & Bone crossbody bag.
Outfit 2: Date Night
So I actually stole this styling idea from the SSO by Danielle website. She had paired an off-the-shoulder gingham top under these overalls in the product page on the site. I didn't have an off-the-shoulder version, but I did have this Zara gingham top (similar, $32) that was one of their most popular items a couple of summers ago. I paired the look with another Zara favorite this year, their white mid-heel sandals (79.90) and this Coach bag (similar, $298). To pull everything together, I whipped out an OG favorite of mine, the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in Always Red.
Outfit 3: Casual
This last outfit is perfect for those cooler spring days when you want to show off your look sans jacket. I opted for a cropped sweatshirt from Wild Fable (similar, $5.40) and my beat up Adidas Stan Smith sneakers (similar, $80). As you can see, my pair are in need of replacing, or at least cleaning, but the raggedness of a worn-in pair of sneakers adds to the casual feel of this look.
How would you style these overalls for spring? Let me know down in the comments!

It's no secret that I've loved SSO by Danielle since its launch in October of 2016. I was never a fan of overalls but this brand made them cool and fashionable in my eyes and showed me ways to style overalls that didn't have me looking like a 5-year-old. But there are still some pairs that I'm missing in my rather large collection, unfortunately. Hopefully that will change soon with the upcoming brand changes. Danielle announced that the corduroy pair she just launched would be the last launch until fall 2019 due to a rebranding of SSO and the brand entering retailers as well. I was very excited to hear this as fit has been different for every pair (for me, at least) and not being able to try them on has made it a little bit of a guessing game for me, especially in this post-partum era I'm in.

Here's hoping that other long-sold out styles will be restocked when Danielle takes the companies to retailers this fall!
